植物簡介

Annual or short-lived perennial up to 2.5 m tall. Leaves (5-50 cm long, 5-25 cm wide) are ovate-lanceolate (egg-shaped to lance-shaped) or elliptical (oval). The leaf margin is entire (smooth edges). Funnel-shaped flowers are yellowish near the base with light pink lobes (sometimes also red, yellowish or greenish). The tubular corolla divides into pointed, unequal lobes. Up to 150 flowers are arranged in branched inflorescences known as thyrsoid panicles). Dry, dehiscent fruits are known as capsules (1.5-2 cm long). They are oval, egg-shaped or round and split into 2 parts. Each capsule contains 2000-5000 seeds which are light to dark brown and egg-shaped to round.

栽培方式

This species is cultivated in a wide variety of climates from temperate to tropical. It does not tolerate waterlogged soils and requires excellent drainage.

修剪建議

Herbaceous — 不適用傳統 RHS 修剪分組。草本植物，枯萎後剪除地上部分，非傳統木本修剪分組。熱帶環境下無明顯休眠期，全年皆可進行修剪。
