長葉竹柏

植物簡介

Upright evergreen tree which grow up to 54 m high. Leaves are ovate to elliptic with dark green on the upper surface and paler green on the lower surface. Matured leaves are smooth and leathery without primary vein. About 6 – 14 long and 2 – 5 cm wide, leaves are arranged in decussate form where a pair of opposite leaves are alternating at right angle. Leaves margin is entire with stomata on both leaves surfaces. Receptacle is fleshy and turned from green to dark purple or black when matured. Seed, about 2 cm wide, is spherical with a small beak.
