植物簡介
A herbaceous shrub, it can grow up to 2m tall and has a branched growth form. Leaves are hirstute, long and narrow with sunken venation and a reddish to pale midrib. The flower is composed of 4 obovate petals (0.2 - 0.4 cm long) arranged in a cross-like pattern. The tip of the petal is sometimes folded down, forming a large notch-like indentation. The petals have distinct sunken venation which creates a rippled surface. The fruit is a capsule about 2 to 4.5cm long with persistent sepals at the apex of the fruit, it splits into 8 linear lobes, releasing wedge-shaped seeds dispersed by water.
