植物簡介
A shrub or small tree, it can grow up to 1 - 3m tall and has a branched growth form. The alternately-arranged leaves are simple and ovate to elliptic in shape, about 2 - 6.5 x 1 - 3cm. The leaves range in colour from red to green and are covered with hairs on the lower leaf surface. Leaf blade is asymmetrical at the base. The flowers are borne on short, terminal inflorescences. The bisexual flowers are purple-red to red in colour; the floral cup is covered with short hairs. The capsular fruits contain seeds that are ovoid-globose or elliptic in shape.

It grows best under full sun, in well-drained soil mixed with organic matter. It can tolerate partial shade.
