An upright, rounded, deciduous shrub or small tree to 2.5m high and wide. Slender-pointed, lobed leaves are brilliant red in spring before maturing to bright green and then turning shades of red and orange in autumn. Small reddish spring flowers may be followed by winged fruits in autumn

照顧指南
Grow in a moist but well-drained soil. Water in summer if necessary. Leaf colour is best in partial shade, although full sun can be tolerated. Leaf scorch can be caused by lack of soil moisture, drying winds or late spring frost. See Japanese maple cultivation
